The Great Movement

After a week-long march, Elder and his fellow miners arrive in La Paz to demand work. As the city absorbs them, Elder’s failing health leads him toward Max, a homeless mystic whose presence opens the film to ritual, hallucination, and unexpected forms of healing.

Shot in tactile Super 16mm, Kiro Russo transforms the Bolivian capital into a living organism where labour, illness, protest, and spiritual imagination coexist. The film charts a continent through the bodies and movements of those pushed to its economic margins.
