Notes on an Exile

Footage shot with a Palestinian-Brazilian family in the occupied West Bank is revisited in the aftermath of October 2023, radically altering the meaning of what had once appeared to be a record of ordinary life.

The film situates intimate experience within a longer history of dispossession, occupation, colonial violence, and the destruction of Indigenous communities. Linking Latin America and Palestine through shared experiences of exile and resistance, the film questions how images themselves become witnesses across continents.

50% of the proceeds from this screening will be donated to SUMUD in support of the Palestinian cause.
